Wojtek Swieca

Wojtek holds a master’s degree in jazz guitar from the Academy of Music in Poznań. He entered the Polish jazz scene at an early age, reaching the finals of the prestigious Jazz Juniors and Krokus Jazz Festival competitions at just 17. In 2012, as a co-founder of the band Jazzpocalypse, he won first prize at the European Jazz Contest in Rome, which led to the release of his debut full-length album Sisyphonic.
Throughout his career, Wojtek has collaborated with a wide range of artists and ensembles, including the influential Polish nu-jazz group Skalpel. He has performed extensively at concerts and festivals across Europe in various musical constellations.

After relocating to Berlin in 2015, Wojtek broadened his artistic practice beyond jazz, focusing increasingly on electronic, ambient, and experimental music. Working under the alias Entelechion, he composes music for dance performances, installations, and documentary films. He is also one half of the duo It Sleeps, founded in 2019 as a tape-loop-based ambient project. Over time, the duo’s work has evolved toward more radical sound exploration, characterized by fragmented structures, eerie textures, and bold sample manipulation.

Alongside his artistic work, Wojtek has been active as an educator. He taught guitar for two years at the Community Music School in Poznań and has led workshops such as “Wir klingen zusammen” at Helmuth-Hübener-Schule in Hamburg, working with young people from migrant backgrounds.

In addition, Wojtek performs on synthesizers and keyboards in Berlin-based, rock-oriented bands including Pult and Twïns.
